Molly Brown: The Viral Queen of BoqTok & Beyond

In this hilariously candid interview, Molly Brown, the Sarah Lawrence senior and internet sensation, spills the tea on her viral journey. If you don’t know who Molly is, then you clearly have never opened TikTok. From impromptu impressions to hosting the chaotic and wildly successful Boq Lookalike Contest last week in NYC - Molly, who goes by @tswiftfan420 on TikTok has taken the internet by storm. With her signature wit and unfiltered humor, Molly dives into her creative process, the unexpected fame of “me and Boq,” and the absurdity of modern internet culture.

Along the way, she reflects on the power of self-awareness (thanks, therapy!) and reveals her unapologetic love for obscure media gems like Tusk. Whether she’s wielding a megaphone at Washington Square Park or justifying her most toxic traits, Molly proves she’s a star who thrives in beautifully bizarre moments.

Steven Morea: Hi, Molly! Thanks for chatting with me today. First off, who the fuck are you, and how would you describe yourself?

Molly Brown: What a loaded question! But I’m ready. My name is Molly Brown. Historically, I’m very funny, and lately, I’ve been putting that on the internet, where it’s been hitting. I’m a senior at Sarah Lawrence College.

Steven: And what’s your major?

Molly: There are no majors at Sarah Lawrence, but I like to say I concentrate in fun. I’m also a tour guide—though they don’t love when I mention that on tours, and I always do.

Steven: Let’s talk content creation. When you started posting, was it a long-time dream or a spur-of-the-moment decision?

Molly: One random day over the summer, I took my prescribed Adderall, locked in, and started making impression videos. My first was something like, “This is my impression of a girl who wants to get to know you.” It spiraled from there.

Steven: That’s how I discovered you! Your impressions are SO funny. Like, your “girl who wants a tattoo” one—iconic.

A girl who is thinking about gstting a gattoo be likeeeee

Molly: Right? People loved it. But then there was that corner of the internet that took it way too seriously, like, “Oh, this is sooo me!” But I was like, “Thanks for the engagement, babes!”

Steven: Let’s get into Boq Fest. Where did the inspiration for this come from?

Molly: It started as a joke. I was home alone over Thanksgiving and kept making videos saying, “Me and Boq, we deserve each other.” It caught on, and suddenly everyone was obsessed. My friend Ash joked about hosting a Boq Lookalike Contest, so I whipped up a poster on Canva, and boom—it was happening.

Steven: How did the event play out?

Molly: It was divine chaos. I showed up at Washington Square Park with a megaphone from my Halloween costume, no permit, and zero plan. But people showed up—one guy even traveled from Pennsylvania. The winner, Raul, looked exactly like Ethan Slater, and he hung out with us afterward. It was surreal.

Steven: So, what’s next? Any future contests?

Molly: TBD. People want a Fiyero Lookalike Contest, but it doesn’t have the same chaotic energy. Boq was such a perfect storm—why mess with perfection?

Steven: Quick detour. On Chris Klemens’ show, you said you can justify anything. What did you mean by that?

Molly: Therapy has made me too self-aware. I know exactly why I make every decision, good or bad. Like, “I won’t text you back because you represent my shadow self.” I get it, I own it, I move on.

Steven: Preach! It’s like we’re on the same wavelength.

Steven: Before we wrap, tell us one piece of media we need to check out.

Molly: The Wicked movie and Tusk. Yes, Tusk. It’s a wild commentary on podcast bros before podcast bros even existed. A guy gets turned into a walrus—cinema at its peak.

Steven: Truly unhinged. I respect it. Molly, this has been a blast.

Molly: Thanks, Steven! This was so much fun.

Steven Morea: You can catch the full interview and clips in the upcoming edition of The Watering Hole. Don’t miss Molly Brown’s unmatched chaos and charm—it’s everything you need to get through the week.
